Intapart has made significant improvements and changes over the past 12 months to their site at Daventry, Northamptonshire. The site now
occupies almost 5 acres, approximately 10000 sq ft of workshops, and a new purpose-built 2500 sq ft call centre. This centre incorporates some of the latest 'state of the art' computing and communications technology within the automotive
recycling industry. By monitoring technological developments in all areas that impact the business, and by employing those that have a cost-effective advantage, Intapart has ultimately become one of the largest and most modern vehicle
recycling facilities in the U.K.
A considerable investment is being made into providing enhanced facilities that will enable Intapart to offer car manufacturers, local authorities and the public, a full on-site end-of-life vehicles
(ELV) solution, and to ensure that these vehicles are disposed of legally and in accordance with the European End-Of-Life Vehicles Directive. An electronic link to DVLA for Notification of Destruction Certificates is already
established, and combined with Intaparts unique vehicle management software
enables insurance companies and local authorities to request, via a stable and secure internet link, collection of vehicles 24hrs a day. In addition, Intapart are installing dedicated metal processing
equipment to compliment the high-volume depollution bays already under construction. These facilities should be fully operational by spring 2004.
Intapart will continue to examine ways in which its
business can be developed so as to minimise its effects on the environment, and implement these changes should they prove beneficial.
